May 27, 2021 Bad math. Victim: "I am 64 years old. I earn $50,000 a year and take home $35,000 after deductions, etc. I haven’t saved anything for retirement. How can I save $1 million from my paycheck so I can retire? Please help." Universe: "If your take-home pay is $35,000, the laws of math say you can’t save $1 million from that. Your math is really bad. Math teachers are twitching in their graves right now." Time for Plan B. The "earn more, spend less, invest the difference over decades" plan isn’t going to work. But things are not hopeless. Here is a Plan B for our friend. The good news is our friend would receive approximately $2,000 a month from Social Security. (In the USA, that is. Other countries will vary.) That is $24,000 a year. He will only need another $11,000 every year to keep his current lifestyle. What can he do now? Start a part-time network marketing business. He has time to learn. He can cancel his cable TV and streaming services. He can stop scrolling through social media. Instead, he can get a few books, start his network marketing business, work with his sponsor, and get some on-the-job training building his new business. Can coffee replace motivational quotes? What does Benjamin Franklin have to say about the next MasterClass? "Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn." –Benjamin Franklin Let’s learn at a higher level. The June MasterClass is "Making the Four Color Personalities Work For Us." Each class focuses on a different area of our business: Class #1. Instant phrases for closing for each personality. Class #2. Instant phrases for prospecting each personality. Class #3. Instant phrases for creating leaders for each personality. Full details and registration is at: https://bigalbooks.com/masterclass4colors/ Feel unmotivated? Instead of trying to motivate ourselves, try this. Do something that excites us. What can we learn or do that feels exciting? Imagine a wedding photographer who only took "selfies." Yeah, that would be bad. The bride would be furious. But isn’t that what we do when we do all the talking with prospects? If we do all the talking, our prospects should be upset. The more we listen, the more we succeed. I love this prospecting question. "Do you know anyone who has a full-time job and a part-time job?" What do we know about this person?

  • Hard-working.

  • Self-motivated.

  • Wants to earn more.

  • Doesn’t want to do this forever.

  • Will appreciate that we can help.

Enjoy the upcoming weekend!
