Creamy mashed potatoes, homemade sourdough, fattoush, and more...

Here are my 5 things for you this week!

  1. As a kid, my mom put me in charge of making the mashed potatoes, so I’ve literally been making this recipe for Creamy Mashed Potatoes over 35 years. It’s tried and true and comes out delicious every single time!

2. A new study sheds light on how glyphostate (aka RoundUp) can cause hormone imbalance. Taking steps to purchase organic whole foods is a great way to reduce your exposure to this kind of pesticide.

3. If you haven't tried making homemade sourdough at home, this is a great first recipe to try! I even had a video to show you step-by-step how to make your first loaf.

4. I've been reading this blog for over a decade and I always find fun inspiration for my cooking. This Buttermilk Fattoush salad looks incredible!

5. Apricot Zingers are simple to make and are always a hit! My mom, owner of The Festive Kitchen, in Dallas, Texas is the creator of these little bites and sells thirty thousand pounds of them each holiday season. The apricot has a melty-sweet quality, there’s a small bite from the jalapeño, and it’s all wrapped in salty bacon. It’s truly the ultimate appetizer.

And, tomorrow, she and I will be teaching a live class titled, "Professional Catering Secrets for Holiday Cooking at Home" and we'd love for you to join us! Click here for more info!

See you next week!

All my best,
