Wellness Wednesday

Here are my 5 things for you this week!

1. I've got a new recipe for Creamy Potato Salad. I think you'll be surprised at the secret to making this recipe so flavorful!

2. One of my favorite ways to preserve the flavors of summer is by infusing spirits. Throw some berries in a jar, pour some vodka, rum, or gin overtop, let it sit for at least 3 days and you’re done – flavored spirits for the entire year. It makes for a fun gift!

3. Independent laboratory tests commissioned by the Environmental Working Group found glyphosate, the notorious weedkiller linked to cancer, in more than 80 percent of non-organic hummus and chickpeas samples, and detected at far lower levels in several organic versions.

It's probably a good idea to make homemade hummus or purchase one that is organic!

4. An intriguing new study by researchers in Europe suggests that coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) mortality rates are likely to be lower in countries where diets are rich in fermented vegetables. I eat a few tablespoons daily of fermented vegetables. Fermented sauerkraut and kimchi are two of my favorites.

5. You can't go wrong with fresh Apricot Ice Cream!

See you next week!

All my best,

Carrie
